In Week Seven, the Green Bay Packers are getting ready to play the Denver Broncos. With their current record of 2-3, the Packers will need to put together a few victories as the season’s halfway point draws near in order to start talking about the playoffs.
Due to a nagging hamstring injury, star running back Aaron Jones has missed a large chunk of the season. To the delight of Packers supporters, Jones’ health status was excellent heading into Week Seven. Anytime a well-known player is purportedly up for sale, though, attention is bound to be drawn.
At the trade deadline, it is anticipated that the Tennessee Titans would look into trade possibilities for Derrick Henry. The CBS Sports
Over the course of the next two weeks, a lot could happen. The Tennessee Titans are 2-4 this year after falling to the Baltimore Ravens 23-16 in Week 6. Tennessee will play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8 after going on bye in Week 7 ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
That might be Henry’s final game wearing a Titans uniform, given that the team is getting ready for a possible rebuild. The Packers need assurance in the backfield sooner rather than later. Henry’s involvement in this offense would have a big impact. Green Bay was first drawn to Indianapolis Colts running back
The Packers’ “to-do” list may not include trading for a running back who will turn 30 in January. He is currently 29 years old. A Jones and Henry backfield would be devastating, though, if the organization believes they can contend within the next one to three years.
