SAD NEWS FOR OHIO STATE…..

Ohio State injury update: TreVeyon Henderson, Denzel Burke, and Emeka Egbuka are all anticipated to return for WisconsinOhio State football DB Lathan Ransom injured in Rose Bowl

Before Ohio State’s football team’s Big Ten game at Wisconsin this coming weekend, head coach Ryan Day updated the team on a number of players and restated earlier remarks on Tuesday regarding the injury to backup quarterback Devin Brown. Day anticipates the return of wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, running back TreVeyon Henderson, and cornerback Denzel Burke for the trip to Madison.

Day is still undecided between Oregon State transfer Tristan Gebbia and four-star freshman Lincoln Kienholz for his backup quarterback position behind starter Kyle McCord.

“(Lincoln’s) very athletic and he’s younger, but he is athletic so we’re going to look to see if we can get him in that role,” Day told Bucknuts.JK Dobbins injury: Ohio State running back leaves Fiesta Bowl with injury, returns - DraftKings Network

Day has not yet chosen Kyle McCord’s backup, while Brown has been out for a few weeks.

“We’ll give those guys reps throughout the week and monitor their progress. Day remarked, “Tristan has experience; I believe they may be five or six years apart. “One has more experience, and the other is a younger player who we believe will have a very promising future year. They haven’t gotten many reps because Devin has been receiving most of the 2s’ work. Perhaps they will both get the chance.”

Henderson’s condition is still unknown, and he hasn’t played in three weeks. Egbuka did not play against Penn State due to an ankle injury sustained against Maryland, but he was a game-time decision. Burke, who left Ohio State’s victory over Purdue this month and did not come back, is anticipated to start at his customary position in the secondary.

Brown has appeared in five games for the Buckeyes after losing a quarterback competition that lasted into the early part of the season. Being a skilled runner, he took 19 carries for 35 yards and another touchdown. He completed 12 of 22 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. In their victory over Purdue in Week 7, Ohio State introduced a new offensive strategy that involved using Brown to run goal-line and red-zone packages. On the second drive, with the Buckeyes facing a third-and-1 from Purdue’s 13-yard line, Brown replaced starter Kyle McCord. On his first play, the 6-foot-3, 213-pound player set up a first-and-goal by following his lead blocker around the left edge for eight yards. Two snaps later, he dropped his shoulder and blasted through a Purdue linebacker to enter the end zone for his first-ever rushing score.
