Cleveland Browns signed running back John Kelly Jr.. to their practice squad.. Kelly is in his third season in the NFL and previouslyplayed for the Los Angeles Rams.. He was drafted by the team in 2018 and played 13 games between the Rams and Browns.. The news

The Browns had a rough year with injuries at the running back position.. Starting running back Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which was so terrible that it was not rebroadcast on television.. Since then, Jerome Ford has been catching on in the backfield, but now it’s doubtful he’ll play this week due to the ankle injury he suffered in last week’s win over the Indianapolis Colts..
Ford was initially expected to miss one to two weeks with the injury, but has progressed well in practice and is now listed as questionable to play this week against the Seattle Seahawks .. If he can’t go, it will likely be Kareem Hunt who gets the most playing time this week along with Pierre Strong Jr.., which should be enough for Cleveland’s offense..
Kelly will be on the practice squad as a starter for Cleveland this season, but there’s a good chance he could be moved to the 53-man roster if another running back gets injured and he proves can play well..
