Despite having a severe head injury, Tagovailoa was permitted to return to the game. After then, the 24-year-old was admitted to the hospital with a concussion.

As per the updated protocols, NFL players who suffer from ataxia—a condition characterized by weak muscle control—will not be permitted to compete.

However, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who hurt his thumb in the first game, informed reporters on Sunday that he is still recovering from the injury and is going day by day. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that even though Prescott intended to be back on the field by Week 5, the 29-year-old couldn’t grasp the ball well enough to play.

Jones claims that since then, Prescott has “made a lot of improvement” and will throw “a lot” this week. On Tuesday, he is anticipated to see a physician as well.

As they should, Dallas is prioritizing Prescott’s recuperation, but the Cowboys’ hopes this season also depend on the two-time Pro Bowler being healthy.
