Sunday Offering: Oklahoma Adds Three More Quarterbacks to 2026 Recruiting Class
Following a successful recruiting season, the Sooners offered six additional high school prospects this week, including three sophomore signal callers.
With the transfer portal window essentially closed and Oklahoma’s 2024 recruiting class fully signed, Brent Venables and his team have spent the last month focused on subsequent cycles.
The Sooners have offered offers to several high school prospects in recent weeks, including six additional potential recruits since last Sunday.
Most notably, Seth Littrell and OU’s offensive staff offered three sophomore quarterbacks this week: Noah Grubbs, a 4-star signal caller from Lake Mary (FL), Jaden O’Neal from Newport Harbor (CA), and Dereon Coleman from Jones (FL).
Grubbs, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 205 pounds, is ranked as the No. 32 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in Rivals’ 2026 recruiting class. Grubbs, a 4-star recruit, has received over 20 offers from programs like Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Michigan.
Grubbs, who also plays baseball, has previously visited Miami and Florida, as well as some of the aforementioned programs.
Coleman, who hails from Florida, also received an offer from Oklahoma this week.
The Jones, FL, standout, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 160 pounds, has already had a number of offers, with more than 15 institutions throughout the country expressing interest.
Despite offers from Nebraska, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas A&M, and others, Littrell and the Sooners look to be in the lead for Coleman, with Rivals’ reporter Parker Thune making an official prediction that the sophomore signal caller will end up in Norman.
If Oklahoma can secure the excellent dual-threat quarterback, it will be a significant boost to the Sooners’ 2026 recruiting class, which currently includes 4-star running back Jonathan Hatton.
Coleman was teammates at Jones High School with Trever Jackson, a 4-star 2024 quarterback who accepted a scholarship from Oklahoma when Jeff Lebby was still directing plays.
Coleman also practices with Baylin Trujillo, an Orlando-based quarterback expert who works with Grubbs and a few other exceptional quarterbacks.
O’Neal, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound sophomore from Newport Beach, California, is the third 2026 quarterback to receive an offer from Littrell and company this week.
Despite not being ranked by any of the major recruiting organizations, O’Neal has already received 20 offers, including from Florida State, Washington, Oregon, Penn State, and others.
In addition to his stature, commentators praise O’Neal’s arm power, pointing out that he can not only throw the ball deep downfield but also produce lengthy throws with exceptional velocity.
This week, the Sooners also offered Sam Utu and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, two 4-star 2026 prospects from California.
According to 247Sports, Utu, an offensive lineman at Orange Lutheran (CA), is ranked No. 25 overall and No. 6 tackle in the nation. Utu, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 295 pounds, has already garnered offers from Georgia, USC, Washington, Michigan, and Texas, among others.
Dixon-Wyatt, a 6-foot-1 wide receiver from Mater Dei (CA), is also a sought-after prospect. Dixon-Wyatt is the No. 76 overall player in the 2026 class, with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Washington, Texas, and others.
OU offered sophomore wideout Devin Carter of Cedar Grove, Georgia.
Carter is rated the No. 35 overall player and No. 5 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class by 247Sports, and he has already received offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Florida State, and others.
Devin’s father, Dexter, was a running back for the Seminoles before being picked in the first round of the 1990 NFL draft. Dexter Carter rushed for 460 yards as a rookie with the San Francisco 49ers and went on to win a Super Bowl with the team.
This was the first week that the Sooners’ coaching staff concentrated completely on the 2026 recruiting class, aiming to gain a head start on what would be a critical class for OU.
