The Crystal Palace star suffered a heavy defeat
Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has struggled significantly in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The 21-year-old is close to returning after tearing his hamstring while playing for France at the European Under-21 Championship in June.
But Olise suffered a hamstring injury and will have to wait to return to play.
This defeat is a blow to Palace, who will continue to assess Olise in the coming days as they set a new timetable for his return.
Olise is likely to miss Palace’s matches before the international break in October, at home against Fulham and Nottingham Forest, as well as against Manchester United in the Premier League and Carabao Cup. Olise, who signed a new four-year contract this summer, was named Palace Players’ Player of the Season after a club-record 11 assists last season. .
His new contract has a release clause effective from next summer, after Chelsea tried to sign him for around £35m at the end of the summer transfer window.

Roy Hodgson returned to training at Crystal Palace on Tuesday after missing the loss to Aston Villa due to illness.
The 76-year-old was absent from Villa Park on Saturday as Palace squandered a late 1-0 lead to suffer their second Premier League defeat of the season, losing 3-1 to Birmingham.
The club’s statement before kick-off read:
“Unfortunately, Roy Hodgson was ill today and was not at Villa Park. Roy is in contact with Paddy McCarthy, who will lead the team today supported by Ray Lewington.
“Roy sent his best wishes to the whole team before the match. We send our best wishes to Roy.
However, Hodgson returned to first-team coaching charge on Tuesday and is expected to return to the training ground when Palace host Fulham in the London derby at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
“We are delighted to confirm that Roy Hodgson has taken charge of Crystal Palace’s training session today,” Palace announced.
“The manager was absent from Saturday’s match at Villa Park but will return to the training ground for Saturday’s match against Fulham at Selhurst Park.”

Former Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock will leave his role at Huddersfield Town after the Terriers Championship clash with Stoke City on Wednesday. Huddersfield have had a difficult start to their league campaign as they lost three of their opening four matches while drawing the other. However, they turned things around this month with back-to-back wins over West Brom and Rotherham United.
The Terriers turned to Warnock at the end of last season, with the veteran manager guiding the club to a great escape that was sealed in the penultimate match of the campaign against Sheffield United. He was due to leave the club in May but has agreed to extend his stay for another season to give the West Yorkshire side more time to find a permanent appointment.
Warnock has had two appearances for Crystal Palace and QPR. He was in charge of Selhurst Park in 129 matches between October 2007 and March 2010. He left the Eagles for QPR in March 2010 on a three-and-a-half-year contract, but was sacked in March. 1 in 2012 after leading the club into the Premier League.
He returned to Palace in August 2014 but was sacked in December 2014. He joined QPR as first team advisor in 2015 and became interim manager following the departure of Chris Ramsey.
Explaining the decision to part ways with Warnock, Huddersfield chief executive Jake Edwards explained that the club can now make this decision long-term.
