Matt Peet has provided an update on Liam Byrne’s injury ahead of Friday’s Super League final against Leigh Leopards at Leigh Sports Village. Liam Byrne, who left the field early in Wigan’s Round 25 win over Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Stadium, will be on the sidelines for a long time. Speaking about the injury, Peet said:
“Liam is unlikely to return this season as we could be looking at an 8-10 week injury. “It’s not ideal and it’s embarrassing for both Liam and the Club. Injuries are something you can expect at this point in the season, which is why we are talking about having a full squad ready to play.
